The second in a series of information evenings in Northern Ireland for School Governors organised by the Transferor Representatives’ Council took place in St. Macartin’s Cathedral Hall, Enniskillen on Wednesday, 6th February.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Andy Brown, a TRC Executive Member and Chairman of the Education Committee of the Presbyterian Church and among the taking part were the Revd. Dr. Fred Munce, General Secretary of the Board of Education with the Methodist Church and Heather McKenzie, from the Controlled Schools’ Support Council, which is supporting the information evenings.

The Bishop of Clogher, the Right Revd. John McDowell gave a formal welcome to all present.

Each of the Governors who will serve during the period from 2018-2022 were given a Transferor Governor Handbook produced by the Transferor Representatives’ Council setting out the Christian principles, ethos and core values as well as the role of being a Governor.

The TRC represents the Church of Ireland, the Methodist Church in Ireland and the Presbyterian Church in Ireland in education in Northern Ireland.
