Church talks football at Celebration of Sport and Faith

There were many winners at the third annual Celebration of Sport and Faith with Ballinamallard United Football Club which took place on Sunday 19th February.

Hosted by Magheracross Parish Church, the Club Chaplain, Archdeacon Brian Harper adopted the theme, "Fit for Purpose."

During the special service, there were interviews with Ballinamallard Assistant Coach, Andy Crawford about his involvement with a trip to Zambia with Ambassadors in Sport as well as John Kee, Director of the youth festival, "Summer Madness" which will be marking its 30th anniversary this year with a cycle from its original site at Castle Archdale to the current location for the festival, Glenarm.

Also taking part during the evening were Danske Bank Premiership players, Niall Owen and Shane McCabe and Lorna McHugh.

Archdeacon Harper said the event had become a firm fixture in the community diary in Fermanagh and it had now attracted the support of several local sporting clubs beyond football.
