Ordination of Revd Mark Gallagher as Deacon in Magheracross

On Sunday 28th August during the Morning Prayer service in Magheracross Parish Church, Ballinamallard the Revd Mark Gallagher was ordained as Deacon.

The service commenced with the singing of the processional hymn 'Be still, for the presence of the Lord'. The first reading from Jeremiah 2: 4-13, read by Sarah Vaughan, Youth Worker; the Psalm was led by the Revd Charlie Eames, NSM; The second reading from Hebrews 13 was read by Jennifer Grey, Ballinamallard Methodist Church. The hymn 'Holy Spirit living breath of God' was sung followed by the Gospel reading from Luke 14: 1, 7-14 read by Howard McMorris, Parish Reader.

The sermon was preached by the Revd Canon Robert Boyd, Rector of Killyman. The Revd Mark Gallagher was presented to the Bishop, Rt Revd John McDowell for Ordination, followed an Ordination Litany intoned by the Revd John McClenaghan. The hymn 'Come Holy Ghost, our souls inspire' was sung before the Ordination Prayer with the laying on of hands. The offertory hymn 'As we gather at your table' was sung before Holy Communion was celebrated. The closing hymn was 'Beauty for Brokenness'.
