MU President of Wellington visits Clogher

Heather Dawson, Mothers' Union President of Wellington visited Clogher Diocese from 14th to 19th September. She and her husband John were hosted by Worldwide Representative, Doreen Earls.

She met some members of the Trustee Body for a meal in Killyhevlin Hotel. Among those she met were the Diocesan Secretary, Diane Whittaker; Diocesan Treasurer, Ann Armstrong, Margaret Crawford, Valerie Stewart, Heather Harper and Myrtle Allen.


Heather visited Drummully and Galloon Mothers' Union, where she was welcomed by the Branch Leader Myrtle Allen and the rector, Revd Anita Kerr. A large number of ladies were present from all the neighbouring Branches. Heather spoke about her work with MU in Wellington Diocese. She showed photographs of her local World Day of Prayer and other events her branch had been involved in. The Diocese enjoyed the privilege of a visit by Worldwide President Lynne Temby with their Provincial President Revd Iritana Hankins. One member made a quilt with New Zealand flowers and birds for Lynne.


Heather and John also visited and spoke to Derryvullen North and Castle Archdale Mothers' Union where she met the Diocesan President, Dr. Margaret Knox.

They also visited Belleek Church and spoke to Garrison, Slavin, Belleek and Kiltyclogher Mothers' Union. Members of Inishmacsaint MU with their Branch Leader, Laura Rogers and Treasurer Eileen Cutler, also attended the Belleek meeting. Heather was again welcomed by the Branch Leader of the Garrison group, Dot Barlow, and the rector, Revd Ngozi Njoku.


At the Harvest Thanksgiving service in Slavin Parish

Before leaving to visit their family in England, Heather and John attended a Harvest Thanksgiving service in Slavin Church. They admired the harvest decorations and joined in with the celebration of a bountiful harvest. They enjoyed the fellowship and a delicious Harvest Supper, provided by the ladies of Slavin Parish.
