Mothers' Union 'Mums in May'
The first Mums in May fundraiser was held in 2012 to mark the 125th anniversary of the found of the Mothers' Union in Ireland. All over the country members put the kettle on and held tea-parties in homes, parishes halls and elsewhere. It has been decided in 2015 we will do it all again!
In 2012: £20,000 was sent to the Mothers' Union Overseas Fund; £20,000 to support ordinands at the Church of Ireland Theological Institute; dozens of holidays and short families who need to get away from it all; equipping prison visitors centres; book bursaries for parents of young students; support for women leaving Women's Aid refuges; simple cookbook for university and college students; Quiet Days, Training Days and Diocesan events.
In 2015 'Mums in May' will support: Mothers' Union Literacy in Ethiopia; Mothers' Union projects across Ireland; Mothers' Union in the 12 Dioceses of Ireland.
