On the afternoon of Sunday 24th May 2015 at 3.30pm, the Day of Pentecost, the annual ecumenical service that has customarily been led by both Bishops of Clogher will take place this year at the Round Tower, Clones, followed by refreshments in the Cassandra Hand Centre. Clones was the site of a monastic settlement founded by St Tigernach in the 6th century, and the round tower, at which the gathering will take place, is dated from the 9th century.

The Church of Ireland Bishop of Clogher, the Rt Revd John McDowell, and the Most Revd Dr Liam MacDaid, Roman Catholic Bishop of Clogher, will lead this special annual service, together with local clergy.
During the service two young people will give their reflections on Pentecost, and the singing will be led by musicians from the local area. As this year marks the 1400th anniversary of St Columbanus, the Revd William Swan CC, will give an address about St Columbanus immediately after the service.
A warm invitation is extended to all to join in this occasion, and refreshments will be made available afterwards.
