As Sunday schools start up again after the summer holidays, all Sunday school teachers in the diocese have been invited to attend a training event to help them prepare for the year ahead.
Julie Currie will lead this event - Julie is a trained teacher and the Diocesan Children's Officer in the diocese of Down & Dromore so she has a wealth of experience in this area. Her own practical experience coupled with her friendly, lively presentation style promise to make this an enjoyable and beneficial evening. We hope those attending will be encouraged and enthused for the new term and come away with practical ideas to make their preparation easier and teaching sessions even more beneficial to the children in their care.
Details of the venues are as follows:
Tuesday 23rd September 2014 in Christ Church Parochial Hall, Maguiresbridge at 7.30pm
and repeated on
Wednesday 24th September 2014 in St Patrick's Hall, Monaghan at 8.00pm
These evenings have been advertised in the diocesan magazine since the June edition. Flyers were sent to all clergy in July and follow-up letters issued to Sunday school superintendents and clergy at the end of August, hopefully giving everyone sufficient time to plan to attend.
We hope many of the teachers in our Sunday schools will be able to come along to one of the evenings. Others involved in children's ministry are also welcome.
Each evening will last approximately an hour and a half and conclude with light refreshments.
