The Service was prepared in a very appropriate manner for a young congregation and was ably led by Revd Kyle Hanlon, Rector of St. John's, and Very Revd Robert Townley, Ulster Regiment Chaplain.

During a varied programme, The Donkey's Parade' was performed by puppets, joyful songs were sung by the members of the St. John's Company and action songs were sung by the congregation. There was also an act of commissioning when Dean Townley presented warrants to Melvyn Lockhart, Commanding Officer, Irenee Hewitt, Second in Command and Robin Mack, Adjutant. At the end of the service, refreshments were served, before everyone headed home.
