A delightful evening of music and song in St. Macartan's Cathedral

A delightful evening of music and song in St. Macartan's Cathedral, Clogher, was well supported by parishioners, friends and visitors from near and afar.

The evening commenced with NI Brass Band League Champions 2014, Murley Silver Band, directed by Mr William Hill. The band entertained the audience with a varied programme of marches, classical and sacred music. They accompanied the congregational singing of Stuart Townend's hymn, "How Deep the Father's Love" and "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross by Isaac Watts.

On entering the Cathedral, Monaghan Gospel Choir commenced the second half of the concert with "Just a Closer Walk with Thee". Under the direction of Mr. David Drum, the choir performed a repertoire of songs, with various members of the choir performing solo items. The junior members delighted the audience with their version of "Voice of an Angel". The pianist for the evening was Mr S. McFadden, Monaghan.

The Rector, Canon Noel Regan, expressed his gratitude to Miss Shirley Fannin for the organisation of the evening.

He thanked all who had given generously to the Cathedral Restoration Fund. To date, a total of over £1000 has been raised.
