A visual display of the Passion of Christ opens in a church in Clogher Diocese over the Easter weekend.

Ivy Brown, one of the dedicated parishioners of St. Aiden’s Parish Church, Kilmore, part of the Monaghan group of parishes has created 14 different scenes to represent the Passion of Christ and these will take centre stage at services on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

St. Aiden’s Church, Kilmore just off the main Cavan to Monaghan road, Eircode H18 XK15 will be hosting the Good Friday Service for the Monaghan Group of Parishes at 7.30pm conducted by Diocesan Reader, William Graham and the Easter Sunday service will also be held at Kilmore Church at 12 noon conducted by Archdeacon Ricky Rountree, following an earlier service in St. Patrick’s, Monaghan.

In addition, St. Aiden’s Church will be open for viewing the exhibits on Maundy Thursday, 2 April from 11am to 2pm and on Easter Monday, 6 April from 2pm to 5pm. Donations will be collected for Crocus Monaghan and St. Aiden’s Church.

Ivy's account begins with Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane and depicts scenes from craftwork and floristry art to tell the story finishing with the empty Tomb.

Ivy uses a variety of materials, many of them recycled and they are truly works of art. She credits the help of her sister, Frances and her brother-in-law, Harry Kent for working with her on the project.
