The Bishop of Clogher, the Rt Revd Dr Ian Ellis, has announced appointments to the Chapter of the Cathedral Churches of St Macartan, Clogher and St Macartin, Enniskillen.

Revd Canon Maurice Armstrong, Rector of Tempo and Clabby and previously Prebendary of Tullycorbet to be Chancellor.

Revd Johnny McLoughlin, Rector of Aghavea and Rural Dean of Clogher, to be Prebendary of Tullycorbet.

Revd William Jeffrey, Rector of Lisbellaw with Coolbuck and Rural Dean of Enniskillen, to be a Canon without stall.

Revd Lorraine Capper, Rector of Magheracross and Warden of Readers, to be a Canon without stall.

Announcing these appointments the Bishop of Clogher said: “I am delighted to be able to make these appointments to the Chapter of the Cathedrals in acknowledgement of the contribution the clergy are making to the life of the diocese.

'Chancellor Maurice Armstrong is the longest serving member of the Cathedral Chapter and is a son of the diocese.
During his extensive ministry in Clogher diocese he has been much involved in diocesan life and has served in past years as Rural Dean of Clogher and Secretary to the Diocesan Ministry of Healing Committee, amongst other positions. I welcome him to this senior position in the chapter.

'Canon Johnny McLoughlin is making a significant contribution to diocesan life as a hard-working Rural Dean of Clogher and currently acting Rural Dean in Clones Rural Deanery where he is caring for several vacant parish groups. I am pleased to appoint him to the Cathedral Chapter in recognition of his service to the diocese.

'Canon William Jeffrey is another of our diligent Rural Deans. In addition to the regular work of Church inspections in the Enniskillen Rural Deanery, he has been looking after several vacant parishes where I know his advice and guidance has been most appreciated. He also represents Clogher diocese in the wider church on the General Synod Council for Mission.

'Canon Lorraine Capper has been much involved in diocesan life. In her former parish she served as Rural Dean of Clones and has recently been a member of the Diocesan Review Team. Canon Lorraine serves as Warden of Readers and Diocesan Support Officer for Lay Ministry and has given great encouragement to the development of Diocesan Readers and Diocesan Pastoral Assistants.'

The date for the Service of Installation of the new Prebendaries and admission of Canons is yet to be fixed.
