Rev Stephen McWhirter marked Palm Sunday by finishing his 110 mile pilgrimage from Rossorry Parish Church to St Patrick’s Cathedral, Dublin.

He arrived at St Patrick’s after completing his last day’s walk from St Michan’s Church via St James Gate following the ancient pilgrimage route, escorted by two members of Garda Siochana and a minibus from St Patrick’s Cathedral.

Rev Stephen was met at the Cathedral by several dozen parishioners from Rossorry Church and by his wife, Canon Jen and daughter Kizzy.

They all then attended the Palm Sunday Choral Eucharist at which Dean William Morton welcomed Revd Stephen.

During the morning Revd Stephen was busy doing media interviews explaining the background to his walk and the fundraising for charitable causes.
