William Graham and Sarah Maguire at the service in Ballinamallard.
Two new Diocesan Readers have been introduced in Clogher Diocese following a Service of Holy Communion on their Admission and Licensing.
They are Mrs Sarah Maguire, who was a Parish Reader based in Rossorry Parish, Enniskillen and Mr. William Graham, who served as a Reader in Ballybay Parish, Co. Monaghan.
The service held in Magheracross Parish Church, Ballinamallard, was conducted by the Bishop of Clogher, the Right Revd Dr. Ian Ellis assisted by Revd Lorraine Capper, Warden of Readers.
During their commissioning, both Diocesan Readers were vested with the traditional blue scarf and they undertook the required declarations.
The sermon was preached by Bishop Ian Ellis, who gave both Readers guidance on preparing and delivering their sermons.
The hymns were; “To God be the glory! great things he hath done,” “In Christ alone my hope is found,” “The Lord’s my shepherd: I’ll not want,” “Lord, for the years your love has kept and guided” and “I, the Lord of sea and sky.”
The First Reading was by Revd Stephen McWhirter, Rector of Rossorry where Mrs Sarah Maguire was Parish Reader and the Gospel reading was by Revd Elaine Dunne, Rector of Ballybay Parish where Mr. William Graham served as Parish Reader.
Clergy, Diocesan and Parish Readers from across the diocese were in attendance and everyone gathered in the Archdale Hall for refreshments afterwards.
