Galloon Parish, Newtownbutler once again held it's annual Sale of Work in The Church Hall on Wednesday 21st November at 8.00pm. The Parish is keen to maintain this event as a fund raising and social event in the Parish.
The Sale was opend by the Revd Betty Thompson, whose husband Dean Raymond Thompson is looking after the pastoral needs of the Parish during the vacancy. She encouraged everyone to start their Christmas shopping and during the night set a very good example. The Rector's Churchwarden, Mr William Allen thanked the Revd Thompson for opening the sale and presented her with a small gift.
As usual the Cake Stall was a big attraction and was soon sold out as were all other stalls. The mini auction and the various guessing games and side shows created interest and members of the Sunday School came in fancy dress. They were judged by Revds Betty & Raymond Thompson and all got prizes.
Special thanks to Maisie for selling quiz sheets, raising £680 and to Jean for doing the house to house collection. Thanks also to all those who worked in any way to make the event a sucess.
