Archbishops and bishops from the Church of Ireland will be attending the Lambeth Conference which begins on Tuesday, 26 July at the University of Kent, Canterbury.
The Lambeth Conference is an international meeting of Anglican bishops which discusses church and world affairs and the global mission of the Anglican Communion for the decade ahead.
The conference theme is ‘God’s Church for God’s World - walking, listening and witnessing together.’ The conference will explore what it means for the Anglican Communion to be responsive to the needs of a 21st Century world.
Meeting around every 10 years since 1867, the Lambeth Conference is one of the four Instruments of Unity in the Anglican Communion. The 2022 meeting will be the 15th Lambeth Conference.
Other venues for parts of the Conference which is expected to attract up to 650 Archbishops and bishops from around the world, will be Canterbury Cathedral and Lambeth Palace, home of the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Right Revd Justin Welby.
The Conference continues until 8 August.
