Successful tea-coffee morning held at Bishopscourt in aid of Co Monaghan Protestant Orphan Society

Over a hundred visitors called at Bishopscourt on Friday the 25th of May, 2012, as Mrs Miriam Moore kindly hosted the Co Monaghan Protestant Orphan Society’s tea-coffee morning. The weather was spectacular and the many visitors, from all parts of Co Monaghan enjoyed the beauty of Bishopscourt and the warmth of the sun. At 12 noon Mr George Knight, local historian from Clones, spoke on the terrace about the Madden family of Springrove. As always, Mr Knight gave a delightful and informative presentation and made us feel acquainted with the Maddens. No one was in a hurry and many stayed after the talk and enjoyed a delicious soup lunch, in the company of friends.

The cake and plant stalls sold very well, and there was an abundance of tasty and delicious home-made cakes and treats.

The morning raised €1,350 and the organising committee would like to thank everyone for their generosity and support.
