CLOGHER DIOCESAN MOTHERS’ UNION NOTES FOR FEBRUARY 2012

PRAYER BREAKFAST

The Faith and Policy Unit has planned a Prayer Breakfast to be held in the Killyhevlin Hotel on SATURDAY 18 FEBRUARY 2012 from 9.30 to 11.30 am. The speaker is Mrs Myrtle Kerr, formerly of the Christian Renewal Centre, Rostrevor. This is a diocesan event and everyone, including non-members and men are most welcome to attend. The cost is £7 or €8.50 per person, payable in advance. This includes a full Irish breakfast or, if preferred, a continental breakfast will be available on request. Numbers attending and payment must be with Valerie Stewart by Friday 3 February. The Rectory, Tamlaght, Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh BT74 4PR. Any queries: 028 66387236

MUMS-IN-MAY

This year we celebrate the 125th Anniversary of Mothers’ Union in Ireland. By now, Branch Leaders will have received a pack “Mums-in-May” to help you to organise an event in your branch, maybe with your neighbouring branches joining in. An event can be as simple as a few friends having a cup of coffee or tea, donating a few £/€ to Mothers’ Union, or an event involving the whole parish. Like most charities, Mothers’ Union has felt the effects of the recession and has had to curtail some projects especially overseas. So whilst celebrating our anniversary, fundraising is also taking place to enable the work of the Mothers’ Union to continue. All monies raised will go to the work of MU both at home and abroad. We are aware May is a busy month but your event does not have to be in May, it could be in April or indeed June.

RECIPE BOOK

A souvenir recipe book is being published with recipes from each diocese to celebrate the 125th Anniversary. These will be available early this year.
