Recession Busters – Doing Something for Others

“Doing Something for Others” is the title of the next Recession Busters event in Co Fermanagh. It will take place in Derrygonnelly Orange Hall on Monday 14th March at 7.30pm, where a warm welcome is extended to all members of the community.. The speaker will be David McClay. David is rector of Willowfield Parish in Belfast, a church with one of the most active community programmes in the Church of Ireland.

The Recession Busters series is motivated by the belief that there are things that can be done as we face the challenges of the present economic challenges in our community.

As part of the event in Derrygonnelly David McClay will talk about the variety of economic challenges that are faced in his local community in Belfast. He will also talk about some of the creative and practical ways in which churches and these local communities are rising to meet them.

An important part of the Recession Buster evenings continues to be the presence of local community organizations and advisers who can provide a wide variety of practical advice.

One of the organising team for Recession Busters said “We believe these events are capturing the imagination of people across our community. It shows that the people of Fermanagh want to come together as good neighbours to see how we can beat this present recession and work for the good of all”.

Everyone in the community is warmly welcome. Each event begins at 7.30pm and admission is free. There are a wide variety of local community organizations present. Free refreshments are available during the evening.

Recession Busters will take place at 7.30pm on Monday14 March in Derrygonnelly Orange Hall. The series has been organized by the Church of Ireland diocese of Clogher, Enniskillen Methodists, Rev David Cupples (Minister of Enniskillen Presbyterian Church) and County Fermanagh Grand Orange Lodge.

Monday 28th March 2011
Recession Buster Information Evening in Lisnaskea High School. A number of organisations will be offering advice at this event and it will be addressed a keynote speaker. For further details watch local press. Organised by Local Churches and the County Fermanagh Grand Orange Lodge, including the Church of Ireland Diocese of Clogher, the local Methodist Church and local Presbyterian Church.

Tuesday 5th April 2011
Recession Buster Information Evening in Enniskillen District Orange Hall. A number of organisations will be offering advice at this event and it will be addressed a keynote speaker, Mrs Wendy Osbourne, Managing Director of Volunteer Now. Organised by Local Churches and the County Fermanagh Grand Orange Lodge, including the Church of Ireland Diocese of Clogher, the local Methodist Church and local Presbyterian Church.
