Clogher Diocesan Youth Leaders Retreat
Clogher Diocesan Youth Leaders Retreat
Last weekend saw a gathering of Clogher Diocesan youth leaders in the new
Cleenish Centre at Bellanaleck. The retreat leader was Helen Warnock, General
Director of Scripture Union N.I. She had been asked to speak on growing as
a youth leader and mentored others in youth leadership.
The retreat was attended by representatives from nine parishes within the
diocese and took the form of interactive group sessions and time for personal
reflection. Helen encouraged leaders to consider how they were doing as youth
leaders and gave valuable insights into how youth leadership could be most
effective.
The group enjoyed the peace and tranquillity of the newly completed Cleenish
Centre and the warm hospitality of the centre manager and staff. All commented
on how worthwhile it had been to take time out of busy schedules to stop,
consider and learn about how they were leading youth and ways of becoming
more effective.
Most of the group are now looking forward to returning to the Centre in
November for two more residential weekends to complete their Open College
Network Level 2 course in Youth Work run in conjunction with N.I. Youthlink.
