Readers Commissioned by Bishop of Clogher

Three Diocesan Readers were recently commissioned and three Parish Readers admitted by the Bishop of Clogher, the Rt Revd Dr Michael Jackson, at a special commissioning service in St Tighernach’s Parish Church, Clones.
Those commissioned to serve as Diocesan Readers in the Diocese of Clogher included Mr Keith Browne of Ematris Parish and Mr Roy Crowe of Clones Parish, both in County Monaghan, and Mr Karl Saunders of Enniskillen Cathedral Parish.
In addition three ladies were admitted as Parochial Readers, Miss Lindsey Coalter was admitted as Parish Reader to serve in the parishes of Aghalurcher (Colebrooke) and Cooneen with Mullaghfad, Mrs Joan Nelson who will serve in the parishes of Trory and Killadeas, and Miss Isobel Stewart who will serve in the Parish of Lisbellaw.
The service was conducted by the Revd Helene Steed, Rector of the Clones Group of Parishes, and the preacher was the Revd Canon Trevor Gillian, Director of Ordinands and Warden of Readers. The Revd Bryan Kerr read the first lesson and the Revd Helene Steed read the second. The prayers were led by Mr Walter Pringle, Diocesan Reader and Diocesan Pastoral Assistant. The singing was excellent and the spirit high. Everyone was invited to the Protestant Hall in Cara Street, Clones for tea following the service.
