BISHOP BLESSES NEW OFFICES FOR ROSSORRY PARISH

The Bishop of Clogher, the Rt. Rev. Michael Jackson, officially opened the new Parish Offices in Rossorry Parish on Monday 19th October, with a short service of blessing and dedication. At a gathering of about 30 parishioners, the Bishop spoke of the importance of good and effective administration in a parish of this size, as well as the need for a place of welcome, openness and informality. He commended the Select Vestry and all involved on their vision and their willingness to move swiftly and decisively to secure such an excellent facility.

The Parish Office is located in a bungalow between the Church and the Rectory, and provides space for an office for the Rector, the Rev. Arthur Barrett, and the Parish Administrator, Mr. John Houston, as well as a number of meeting rooms.

Parishioners are now able to use the Parish Office as an access point to the administrative side of parish life as well as for meeting the Rector and other parish officers.

The Parish Administrator, Mr. John Houston, began work in the parish on the 1st September, with an initial task of taking a census of the whole parish, in order to ascertain accurate and up-to-date information of all parish families. His role will also be to provide administrative and support services to the Rector, the Select Vestry and the many and varied parish organisations and activities.

The Parish Office is open each weekday from 9.00am to 12noon – the phone number is 028-66329889.
