Clogher Diocesan Mothers’ Union Festival Service
The Festival Service of Clogher Diocesan Mothers Union took place on Friday
1st May 2009 in St Macartin's Cathedral Enniskillen. A very good congregation
attended including the Mothers’ Union President of Tuam, Mrs Mildred
Gilmore, the new Diocesan Chaplain for Tuam, the Revd Neal O'Raw, Rector
of Crossmolina, along with members from the linked dioceses.
The All-Ireland President, Mrs Margaret Crawford, a member of Cleenish Branch
was present. The Lakelands District President of the Methodist Women in
Ireland, Mrs Joy Graham also attended. The Revd Precentor Brian Courtney,
Rector of Enniskillen Cathedral, conducted the service and was assisted
by both the Clogher Mothers’ Union Diocesan Chaplain, the Revd Canon
John Stewart and Mrs Muriel Treacy who is co-ordinator of the Faith and
Policy Unit. The lessons were read by Mrs Valerie Courtney, Branch Leader
of St Macartin's Cathedral and Mrs Geraldine Beattie, President of Clogher
Diocesan Mothers’ Union. The Preacher was the Venerable Richard Dadswell.
Archdeacon of Kilalla and Achonry, who spoke on this year's theme "Cost
of Relationship". The Bishop of Clogher, the Rt Revd Dr Michael
Jackson gave the Blessing.
Flowers in the Cathedral and Hall, were beautifully arranged by members
of the Cathedral, and were much appreciated. Supper was served by St Macartin's
members following the Service.

by Mrs Shirley Clarke, Tuam; Mrs Geraldine Beattie, Clogher Diocesan MU
President; and the Clogher Diocesan Banner, carried by Mrs Estelle Latimer,
St Macartin's Cathedral Branch.
