Archdeacon over halfway through Camino pilgrimage

One of the stunning views on the Camino pilgrimage.

Archdeacon Brian Harper, Rector of Magheracross Parish, in a break from ministry in Clogher Diocese, is just over halfway through his six-week 500-mile pilgrimage on foot across Northern Spain on the Camino de Santiago.

Today, Archdeacon Harper sent this latest report on his pilgrimage.

'As I write, I'm in the city of Leon in Spain and have now completed just over half of the Camino de Santiago.

'So far, it has been a physical and mental challenge against storm and heat. However, the company has been varied and supportive ranging from retired Irish teachers, German businessmen and many Koreans to a guy who draws the graphics on live football games! They have been people of every faith and none.

'This has been a long walk which I plan to complete by the end of May. It has been a time of thoughtfulness, prayer, blessing and testing which will take time to distill but in the meantime, I hope the photos do justice to the sights,' he said.
