December 2019

Wednesday 11th December – Community Carol Service in Christ Church, Ballybay at 8pm. There will be refreshments afterwards, Everyone welcome.

Thursday 12th December – Christmas Cabaret Spectacular in Aghavea Parish Hall organised by Aghavea Parish Church and hosted by Malcolm McDowell. Tickets costing £15 available from the parishioners. Visit by some of the country's top artists - Brendan Quinn, Billy McFarland, Aidan Quinn, Patricia Maguire, Liam Kelly, Andrew McMurdie, all backed by Robbie Pearson and Jonathan Milligan. With such a fantastic line-up, a great evening is ensured! Doors open 7.30pm and Show starts 8pm.

Saturday 14th December – Christmas Fayre organised by St. Tighernach`s Parish Church, Clones in the Creighton Hotel Ballroom from 10am until 12.30pm. Christmas Cakes, Puddings, Handmade Christmas Wreaths and a variety of other items. Come and join your friends for Tea. Everyone Welcome

Saturday 14th December – Children's Christmas Tree Party will be held in Rockcorry School at 7pm. The children are looking forward to the appearance of a very special Christmas visitor.

Saturday 14th December – Football Club Carol Service hosted by Ballinamallard F.C. at Ferney Park following the game with Portadown. This usually starts about 5.15pm and is weather dependent.

Monday 16th - Tuesday 17th December 2019 – A Winter's Tale will take place in St. Salvator's Parish Church, Glaslough. It will be followed by refreshments at Castle Leslie. Mrs. Ethne McCord, Musical Director of both the Donagh Community Choir and the Donagh Junior Choir will be joined by Gerard Toal, pianist and Revd. Lorraine Capper will compere the evening as well as singing with the Donagh Community Choir. The evening finishes with a candlelit journey to Castle Leslie for tea, coffee and mulled wine served with mince pies and shortbread. ADMISSION IS BY TICKET ONLY. THIS EVENT HAS BEEN TOTALLY SOLD OUT.

Tuesday 17th December – Carrickmacross Annual Ecumenical Community Carol Service returns to St Finbarr's Church this year at 7.30pm. Among those attending will be Monsignor Joseph McGuinness along with friends from St Joseph's Roman Catholic Church and the other local churches for this year's Service. Retiring collection will be for the recently formed Carrickmacross Food Bank who provide food and essentials for those in our community who are struggling financially. All welcome

Wednesday 18th December – A 'Blue Christmas' Service will take place in St. Macartan's Cathedral, Clogher at 7.30pm. The Christmas season is not always a happy time for some folks, or indeed at best it can often be a time of many emotions. The Advent and Christmas seasons can remind us of loved ones or relationships we have lost. A "Blue Christmas" service is a gentle contemplative service for those who are carrying pain and loss during the season of celebration. Everyone is welcome.

Thursday 19th December – Christmas Annual Sit-out by Archdeacon Brian Harper, Rector of Magheracross and Revd John Beacom, Ballinamallard Methodist Church outside Magheracross Parish Church no matter the weather from 8am to 8pm receiving donations. This year, the gifts will be used to benefit the joint youth activities in Ballinamallard and Prostate Cancer UK.

Thursday 19th December – Ecumenical Carol service will be held at St Maeldoid's Church, Muckno, Castleblayney on Thursday, 19th December at 7.30pm. More details in the next magazine.

Tuesday 24th December - Sunday 5th January 2020 – Derryvullen North and Garvary Christmas Services will begin with CHRISTMAS EVE HOLY COMMUNION at 7.00 pm in Garvary Parish Church and at 8.30 pm in Derryvullen South Parish Church. CHRISTMAS DAY HOLY COMMUNION at 9.00 am in Garvary Parish Church and at 10.30 am in Derryvullen South Parish Church. The First Sunday of Christmas, 29th December, A Service of the Word at 10.30 am in Derryvullen South Parish Church and at 12.00 noon in Garvary Parish Church. JANUARY 2020: 5TH January, The Second Sunday of Christmas, A Celebration of Holy Communion at 10.30 am in Garvary Parish Church and at 12.00 noon in Derryvullen South Parish Church.

Tuesday 31st December – Colaghty Parish Annual New Year's Eve Worship and Social will take place in Colaghty Hall with refreshments served around 9pm, followed with worship and then the social. It is hoped that pipers will welcome in the New Year as in previous years. All are welcome

January 2020

Thursday 23rd January – Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2020 service in Enniskillen Presbyterian Church at 8.00pm.

Friday 31st January – Dance in Galloon Church Hall, Newtownbutler from 10pm to 1am. Music by Livingstone Country Band. Tickets £5.00 including supper.

February 2020

Friday 21st February – Curtis Magee Dance in Maguirebridge Parochial Hall organised by Christ Church, Maguiresbridge. Keep free.

Saturday 22nd February – Mothers' Union Prayer Breakfast will be held in Fivemiletown with June Butler, All-Ireland President. More details later.

March 2020

Sunday 8th March – Favourite Hymns in St Mark's Parish Church, Aghadrumsee at 3pm with Revd Olivia Downey.

Friday 13th March – Marching Bands Concert in Tempo Parish Church at 8pm.

May 2020

Thursday 7th - Saturday 9th May 2020 – 2020 General Synod in Croke Park Meetings and Events Centre.

Sunday 10th May – Picnic at Crom for St. Mark's Parish, Aghadrumsee 200th anniversary year.

Friday 22nd - Monday 25th May 2020 – Inishmacsaint Mothers Union Trip to Ennis, Co. Clare. Cost £340 for three nights sharing, including Bed and Breakfast and three evening meals. Single supplement £60. Please contact Robena 02868641569 for further details.

June 2020

Saturday 6th - Sunday 7th June 2020 – Aghadrumsee 200th Anniversary ending weekend with display of wedding dresses and christening gowns and dress up Sunday.
