Choirs, singers and musicians ready for Clogher Diocesan Big Sing

 


The popular Clogher Diocesan BIG SING will be held this Sunday, 29 January at 7pm in St. Maeldoid’s Church, in the Parish of Muckno, Castleblayney.

Everyone is invited to attend what is expected to be a joyous and uplifting evening of music and song.

Artistes representing churches across the diocese and other groups will be taking part.

A wide range of soloists and musicians will be featured as well as a number of speakers introducing some of the hymns. The organist for the evening is Mr. Glenn Moore.

A welcome will be extended to everyone by Revd Elaine Dunne, Rector of Ballybay, Muckno and Clontibret parishes before the choirs and congregation sing the first hymn, “Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart.”

During the evening, a number of well-known and favourite hymns will be sung, including “Amazing Grace,” “Nearer, my God, to thee,” “Guide me, O thou great Jehovah,” “The Lord’s my shepherd” and many others. Some of them accompanied by soloists and instrumentalists.

Those taking part include choirs, singers and musicians from Enniskillen Cathedral, Aghadrumsee, Lisbellaw, Magheracross, Donagh Group, Maguiresbridge, Inishmacsaint, Ballybay and Dromore as well as Ballybay Gospel Group, the combined choirs of Ballybay Presbyterian Group of Churches, Donagh Cantari and Donagh Community Choir.

Bishop Ian Ellis will give the Epilogue and there will be a retiring collection in aid of Co. Monaghan Church of Ireland Children’s Society.
