March 2023

Wednesday 22nd March – Easter Floral Demonstration in Ballinode Church Hall, Co. Monaghan at 8pm with Wilma from J.P. Flowers. Tickets are ?10 each and refreshments will be served afterwards.

Friday 24th March – 400th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service in St. Macartin's Cathedral, Enniskillen at 7.30pm to acknowledge and give thanks for 400 years of worship.The preacher will be The Most Revd F John McDowell, B A Hons, B Th, Dip B S, Archbishop of Armagh. An invitation to family, friends, neighbours and anyone who has had previous connections with the Parish.

Friday 24th March – SEFF in conversation with the Churches, academics and civic society in the Long Gallery, Stormont Parliamentary Buildings from 10.30am to 4pm as the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement/Belfast Agreement approaches. Further details; info@seff.org.uk Tel. 028 677 23884.

Saturday 25th March – Garvary Parish Auction at 2pm. Donations of bric-a-brac and firewood would be gratefully accepted. They also hope to have bales of straw for sale.

Sunday 26th March – The 64th annual Friends' Service for Clogher Cathedral at 3.00pm and normally held on the Sunday closest to St Macartan's Day (24th March). The preacher is Bishop Ian Ellis. Tea will be served in the Cathedral Hall after the service and this will be followed by the Friends' Annual General Meeting. Friends are asked to make a special effort to attend this year as no meeting has now been held since 2019.

Monday 27th March – Flower Demonstration in Clontibret Parish Hall by two members of the Monaghan Flower and Gardening Club, Bridie and Bríd at 8p.m. Tickets can be bought from any member of the congregation so don't miss out on this event! Refreshments will be served.

Friday 31st March – An Evening of Favourite Hymns - Old and New in Inishmacsaint Parish Church at 7.30pm. There will be a retiring collection for church funds.

April 2023

Saturday 1st April – Friends of Columbanus meeting in Cleenish Hall, Bellanaleck from 2pm to 3.30pm with view to setting up a group in Fermanagh to promote the legacy of Columbanus and helping to develop the Columban Way in the Fermanagh area. St Columbanus has ties to Cleenish Island where he lived from the age of 12.

Tuesday 4th April – St. Tighernach's Day commemoration in St. Tighernach's Parish Church, The Diamond, Clones at 7pm organised by Clones Community Forum and the parishioners of St. Tighernach's Church, followed by a short walk to The Round Tower. Tea will be served afterwards in the Cassandra Hand Centre.

Thursday 6th April – Clergy Devotional Morning for clergy to join the Bishop of Clogher for a Maundy Service of Holy Communion in St Patrick's Church, Monaghan. Maundy Thursday is traditionally a day when we focus on the institution of the Lord's Supper and the nature of ministry, and therefore an appropriate day to pause and reflect together upon our calling. Following the service, Revd Rob Jones, National Director for Pioneer Ministry, will lead a session to introduce Pioneer Ministry.

Sunday 9th April – Easter Sunday Holy Communion at 7am at Aghavea Church garden beside the Parish Hall conducted by Revd Johnny McLoughlin.

Sunday 9th April – Easter Easter Sunday Sunrise Service at 6am at God's Acre Cemetery, Dundalk Road, Carrickmacross led by Revd Ian Cruickshank.

Sunday 9th April – Easter Day Sunrise Service at 6.00am with a Service of Holy Communion at the ruins of Old Rossorry.

Monday 10th April – Easter Monday Egg Hunt and walk organised by Clogher Cathedral Parish in Knockmany Forest. More details later.

Wednesday 12th April – Shoppers Service in Derryvullen North Parish Centre, Irvinestown at 11.00am led by Canon Paul Thompson with Richard McGonigle providing the music on the guitar as people meet for praise, communion and friendship rounded off with a cuppa and time to chat.

Saturday 15th April – Galloon Parish Auction at 12 noon in The Church Hall, High Street, Newtownbutler with viewing from 11am. We look forward to welcoming you all back. We have a large selection of items for sale. Refreshments will be on sale.

Sunday 23rd April – Dedication Service of Plaque detailing Rectors of Devenish and donated in memory of The Lucy Family at 11.30 am in Devenish Parish Church. The Preacher is the Bishop of Clogher, the Right Revd. Dr Ian Ellis.

Saturday 29th April – Colaghty Parish Auction in the Parish Hall. Further details later.

Sunday 30th April – An Evening of Sacred Music with Chamber Choir West in Priory Church, Killadeas at 6pm.

May 2023

Friday 5th May – Clabby Parish Fun Evening at 6.30pm to celebrate the King's Coronation.

Saturday 6th May – Car boot sale in Drummully Parish with gates open from 8am.

Saturday 6th May – Garden and Street Party for the Coronation of King Charles III in the grounds of Trory and Killadeas Rectory.

Saturday 6th May – Coronation Hog Roast from 12 Noon to 3pm at the Garrison Group of Parishes Rectory. Proceeds to Bishops Appeal for Syria and Turkey Earthquake Relief and the Rectory Fund. No RSVP required but volunteers needed!

Saturday 6th May – Coronation Street Party at the Rectory of Trory and Killadeas Parishes to celebrate the coronation of His Royal Highness King Charles III. In the morning the large screens in the Rectory will be showing the coronation followed by a street party, with food, fun, lawn games and inflatable obstacle courses.

Sunday 7th May – Coronation Weekend Joint Service in Maguiresbridge followed by barbecue.

Friday 12th May – Music Extravaganza in Galloon Parish Church with a special evening of hymns and music at 7.30pm. A guest organist will give recitals on the Lewis Organ along with local talent of all ages.

Friday 12th - Saturday 13th May 2023 – General Synod of the Church of Ireland takes place in person at White's Hotel, Wexford, a change of venue from the earlier listing of Croke Park Events Centre which is not now available. A third day's business will be conducted remotely on the evening of Tuesday 16th May and the evening of Thursday 18th May (if required).

Friday 19th May – Police Choir in Concert in Colaghty Parish Church with proceeds to Air Ambulance NI.

Friday 19th May – Colaghty Parish Auction featuring the Police Male Voice Choir in the Parish Hall with all proceeds to Air Ambulance NI.

Friday 19th May – Police Choir performs in Colaghty Hall with proceeds to Air Ambulance NI.

Sunday 21st May – Garden Party at Hilton Park, Scotshouse hosted by the Madden family in aid of the Cavan-Monaghan Hospital Cancer and Oncology Department from 2.30pm - 5.00pm. Everyone is warmly welcome.

Friday 26th - Monday 29th May 2023 – Flower Festival in St. Macartin's Cathedral, Enniskillen with the theme, "Signs and Sayings in John's Gospel." More details later.

Sunday 28th May – Evening of Favourite Hymns at 6pm in the Priory Church, Killadeas along with the stories behind them.

June 2023

Saturday 18th November – Christmas Craft Fair in Galloon Parish Hall.

December 2023

Friday 8th - Sunday 10th December 2023 – Winter Wonderland Christmas Tree Festival in Galloon Parish Church Viewing will begin on the Friday and the weekend will conclude with a carol service on the Sunday. More information will follow.

May 2024

Friday 10th - Saturday 11th May 2024 – 2024 General Synod will be held in Armagh with the third day's business to be conducted remotely on the evening of Tuesday 14th May and the evening of Thursday 16th May (if required).
