St. Patrick’s Day has been marked in churches throughout Clogher Diocese with normal Sunday services in most churches along with some special services to mark the day.

During many of the services, the special Collect for St. Patrick’s Day was read.

One parish celebrating St. Patrick’s weekend was Aghavea where they held a special Stew Night in the Parish Hall on Saturday evening, 16th March. The music was provided by the Strule River String Band and a large number of people enjoyed the evening. A special cake was baked for the occasion.

A St. Patrick’s Day service was also being held in Aghabog Parish Church, part of the Ematris Group in Co. Monaghan on Monday, 18th March at 11am followed by games for young people.
