Commissioning of Parish Readers

A service for the Commissioning of Parish Readers took place in Kilskeery Parish Church at 7.00pm on Sunday 24th April 2016. The Rt Revd John McDowell, Bishop of Clogher commissioned the new parish readers, Mr Harry Anderson from Inishmacsaint Parish and Mr Adrian Irvine from Kilskeery Parish. The bishop preached the sermon.

The service commenced with the singing of hymn 'We have a gospel to proclaim' followed by the Admission of Parish Readers. The first reading from Genesis chapter 22 was read by Mr Adrian Irvine, followed by Psalm 119, read by the Revd Rosemary Logue. The second reading from Acts chapter 15 was read by Mr Harry Anderson and the Gospel reading from St Mark chapter 13, by the Revd Rosemary Logue. Bishop McDowell preached the sermon and celebrated Holy Communion. The hymn 'God is here, As we his people' was sung and the service concluded with the singing of the hymn 'How Great Thou Art'.
