Young Adults Centenary Pilgrimage to the Somme

Archbishop Richard Clarke along with Bishop John McDowell will be making a centenary pilgrimage to the Somme this summer. He has invited a group of 5 young adults from Clogher to join the group which will also include other bishops and young adults from Anglican and Catholic dioceses in Ireland.

At present we have asked that the CDYC rural deanery representatives seek potential 18-30yrs who may be interested in taking up this unique opportunity. The group will leave Ireland on 22nd June and return on Friday 24th June.

There will be visits to the Glasnevin Cemetery in Dublin, the Somme war graves and the Messines Ridges Peace Park. The total cost will be £567 and it is hoped that young people will contribute £150 with their parishes and diocese along with possible funding from the RCB making up the difference.

The Revd Canon Shane Forster, Executive Chaplain to the Archbishop has asked that we have identified our 5 young people and secured their £150 deposits by Tuesday 1st March.
