'Unmasked' - Clogher Youth Council Annual Weekend

Rev Simon & Mrs Zara Genoe from Lisburn Cathedral are the guest speakers at the annual youth weekend beginning at 6:30pm on Friday 12th until 4.00pm on Sunday 14th April 2013 at the Share Centre, Lisnaskea.

The weekend programme will be a lively mix of activities, talks, seminars, praise, prayer and worship. The centre offers a unique venue for this type of weekend, which allows for small parish group accommodation in chalets along with the main farmhouse dormitory block. Facilities on offer are the main arena where the keynote addresses will take place along with breakout areas, coffee lounges and seminar rooms where small group activities and meetings can be held.

The outdoor activities will all be led by Share Centre instructors and will include the indoor climbing wall, combat lazer zone, banana boating, sailing and canoeing. The centres indoor swimming pool will also be available for our young people to relax in after a busy day spent being challenged and encouraged mentally, spiritually and physically.

As in previous years the weekend will draw together young people from throughout the diocese. Newly established Wells project groups are also signed up to join the weekend this year adding an even greater spectrum to the group.

It has been very encouraging to see parishes encouraging young people and their youth leaders to attend the weekend by subsidising some of their costs. Happily the Youth Council has also been able to lower the cost to make the weekend excellent value for all.

We are looking forward to having two speakers this year in Simon and his wife Zara. They promise to bring an experienced and interesting quality to the talks as Simon has been involved on youth work in the past and Zara has worked for Lisburn Cathedral as a volunteer in their Fusion youth work and in building healthy relationship amongst young people.
